Hotel Alishan

Service is ok. Rooms are clean. Housekeeping needs to improve. I had complained about ac remote and tv, but no one came to check those. There is a restaurant attached whose food 8s decent, though over priced. Similarly the room I stayed (looked like a new wing) was over priced. The design is not customer friendly. There are no switches ang plug points near the bed.

We don't have option for Zero rating otherwise is give him I would request you people that if you are coming to this hotel then you have come at your own risk. The staff here is not good at all and neither is this hotel clean.

This hotel is very unhygienic. Room has a bad smell. There is dust on sofa, table and blanket. Geyser is not working in bathroom & and taps are in pathetic condition. Food in the restaurant is also tasteless. Room service is not good as we ordered coffee but they couldn't send it in 2 hours. Suggestion is to take good hotel in Similiguda if you are coming for vacation.

Zero maintenance. Behaviour of staff is not good. Booked room can be cancelled or changed any time. Go for other alternatives. Not suitable for family. Staffs are not cooperating and always demand money in various way. Consider another place if available.

Food was good ..the prices are affordable also...but the staff members are not so hospitable and they don't actually focus on what you say...

Worst rooms. Overhyped. Unhygienic rooms, and rooms smell terribly. Cost of the rooms are terribly high compared to the amenity provided. Food quality is worst and tasteless. Only good thing about the hotel is complimentary tea in the morning. If you want to enjoy your vacation, don't ruin by booking the worst hotel.

I have given overall 5 star because it was a savior for me. All the rooms in the Koraput district were booked, I got a room here. Although the room was not in a good condition, neither was my situation. The best part is they didn't charge me exorbitant. For the price, the room was okay. You get a decent bed and bathroom. Nothing more than that. They have a restaurant attached so it's a relief when you return after a hectic day and want to eat without going anywhere.

My recent stay at Hotel Alishan in Koraput, Odisha, was an absolute disaster, riddled with issues that made the experience extremely uncomfortable. I would advise others to think twice before booking a room here. Here's a detailed breakdown of the numerous problems we encountered: 1. Poor Service Quality: The staff at Hotel Alishan displayed a level of indifference that I've rarely experienced before. Even basic requests were met with a lackadaisical attitude and took hours to fulfill. The unprofessional behavior made every interaction frustrating, and there was no regard for customer satisfaction. 2. Non-Functional AC and Faulty Fan: Despite booking an air-conditioned room, the AC was completely out of order. We had to rely on a single wall-mounted fan, which was another disappointment--it was fixed in place and couldn't rotate to circulate air around the room. This made the hot and humid room stiflingly uncomfortable, especially at night. 3. Disconnected Room Service Landline: The landline for room service was disconnected, meaning we had to physically go to the reception for any requests. This was highly inconvenient, especially late at night, and it seemed the staff didn't care to provide a better alternative. 4. Bathroom Problems and Nightly Water Shutdown: The bathroom facilities were in a deplorable state. The flush system didn't work, so we had to manually pour water into the commode after every use. The flush tank was out of order and flush pipe had a major leak, causing it to drain constantly and exacerbating water shortages. To make matters worse, one night, the water supply to the bathroom was entirely shut off. We had to go down to the reception at 4 AM, only to have a heated argument with the staff to get the water service restored. This level of service was not only unacceptable but incredibly frustrating in the middle of the night. 5. Poor Room Condition and Cleanliness: The room itself was poorly maintained. Curtain rods were broken, leaving us unable to fully close the curtains for privacy. The balcony, which could have offered some respite, was blocked by an old sofa, making it inaccessible. Cleanliness and basic upkeep seemed to be non-existent. 6. Subpar Food Quality: The food was another disappointment. The dishes tasted stale. The limited menu offered little variety, and each meal left us wanting to look elsewhere for something edible. It was clear that there was minimal effort put into food preparation. 7. Lack of Maintenance and Dreary Ambience: The entire property appeared rundown, with broken fixtures, dim lighting, and malfunctioning amenities. It was clear that maintenance was a low priority for management, as the hotel looked and felt neglected. The dreary, uncomfortable atmosphere made staying in the room an unpleasant experience. 8. Value for Money: For the price, Hotel Alishan was a complete waste. This hotel fails to deliver even basic amenities and comfort. There are many budget-friendly hotels that offer much better service and value than what we experienced here. The Only Good Parts: The only positive aspects were the view to the west and the convenient parking area. The western view from the property was indeed pleasant, offering a brief escape from the otherwise disappointing experience inside the hotel. Additionally, the parking area was well-organized and spacious, which made parking hassle-free. In Summary: I strongly advise against staying at Hotel Alishan in Koraput. From non-functional AC and an unmovable wall-mounted fan to the dead flush, blocked balcony, and the complete water shutdown that required a 4 AM argument to resolve, the issues are far too many. Poor service, terrible food, and a generally neglected property make this one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. Look elsewhere in the area if you want even a remotely comfortable stay.
