Hotel Sai Palace, Balangir

We decided to try the Chicken Dum Biryani and, feeling adventurous, asked for some aloo since they had Aloo Matka Biryani on the menu. Well, turns out they forgot to serve the aloo--maybe it went into hiding? When we reminded them, they graciously made up for it by bringing us... some plain, boiled potatoes. Ah yes, nothing screams gourmet experience like a couple of sad, unseasoned aloo dumped on a bowl. Now, about the so-called Dum Biryani--I suspect the chef got a little too relaxed and accidentally served us some rice. What kind of rice? A mystery! Was it pulao? Fried rice? The secret remains unsolved. The kebabs on the side were another adventure. I'm fairly certain the chicken had a spiritual journey and was reborn at least ten times before finally landing on our plate. Chewy, overcooked, and possibly seeking revenge. Overall, a memorable experience, just not for the right reasons.

Everything was good except the fact that they don't have lift facility.

I stayed for 3 nights with my family. The rooms, hallways, stairs are made generously spaceous. Very polite staff. The hotel has one of the finest restaurants in town. We loved the food. I wish, they had a lift. Overall stay was very pleasant.

This is my first stay with Hotel Sai Palace with my 7 month old baby and my 70 year old mother.I must say I am impressed with the kind of service and cleanliness they ensure.Mr Jued is a thorough gentleman looking after his guest Mr Narasimhan Rana and Mr Arun Barik.The breakfast is one of the major attraction with hot idlis to upma to gulab jamun to puri tarkari on the top of it is complimentary.Secondly the attendants are well mannered eager to help guests.There is zero disturbance in this property.Nearby and medical stores which is an added advantage.And they have a good connectivity to bus stand and railway station and durga mandap market plus rajendra college area.Completely enjoyed the 3 days stay.Value for money!

Food was good. Rooms were adequate size with standard amenities. But not wow. Banquet hall for 50guest is there. Good place. Parking is a issue. And turn to reach hotel from the main road is bit clumsy. We had banquet buffet with chicken and meat dishes. Okay for family
