QT Wellington

A really well located hotel we arrived from the South Island and the hotel was just a 15 minute drive from the port. The hotel had valet parking which was a bit expensive but very convenient. The bedroom was comfortable and well equipped. The dining room closed at 9:30 pm but room service provided a nice dinner. The hotel has a small but pleasant swimming pool and gym. Breakfast was provided on level 3 and was satisfactory. The bar service was not very good slow and limited choice. A good stay ideal for visiting the city

I stayed here last weekend. The service was great - until they put a $20 bond to use a phone charger lol. Its a $7 cable... Great location, fancy bar area. If you can get a room for <$170 its worth it - not >$200 though.

Another great stay at a QT. Excellent service. Highly recommended the cocktails - the bar is unassuming but we had a great bartender. The room was fine but quite small. Very convenient location. Only complaint were the steep parking prices.

This hotel is extremely quirky - full of art & statues and some very sharp colour schemes. I enjoyed the individuality, although it reduced the appeal of the bar area. Room was high quality with a spa bath which was great! Well located for the waterfront too.

Deco is somewhat oddball but very creative. The location is excellent. The rooms have everything you would need. I had an excellent two weeks stay there.

We stayed for 2 nights & it was only okay at best. The hallways were dark. Our room's AC did not work & our phone didn't work either. We had to get help from the front desk. To get the help, we had to go back to the desk since the phone wasn't operating. Luckily, maintenance were able to fix both. Our room had the smallest size luggage rack we've ever seen. It hardly held our suitcase. The first night there we went to a group dinner. Service was extremely slow. Our meal took over 3 hours. I had preordered the fish. It should have been served hot but was already cold when I got it. Breakfast was served in the Hot Sauce restaurant. Their Hippopotomus restaurant was closed during our stay. The hotel definitely did not have enough staff for both mornings we were there. Our stay was disappointing & the hotel does need some updating.

To say we were disappointed with this hotel would be an understatement. But to start with the positives, if you like dark interiors and quirky hotels then this one is for you and some of the art work is very impressive and it is in a good location. On the negative side, our room wasn't available at 3pm so we camped in our friends' room for about an hour. We were advised by reception staff to go next door for our first breakfast only to be told when we turned up that it would be served on the third floor of the hotel. Breakfast that morning was fine, a la carte, though filter coffee on offer was not to our taste and there was not an alternative coffee ovailable. On our second day, we were informed by a note in our room that the pool and spa were not available. A la carte breakfast on our second morning was not available. The 'hot' food on offerwas warm at best, no juice was available and had to be requested. We felt that in the restaurant the staff were inattentive. To end with a positive, the Concierge was helpful in arranging transport to the airport but we would not recommend this hotel.

Quirky boutique style hotel. We stayed two nights. Our room was clean and comfortable. |A good location for exploring the city and very close to the harbour which has many bars and eating establishments.|We had breakfast one morning only. Good food choices available.
