Brilliant accommodation in central location. Very comfortable and well maintained. Staff were very helpful and accommodating with our check in and out. The lap pool is on the 9th floor overlooking the street. The gym could do with upgrading but was OK for the odd session. Really wish we could have stayed longer. The garage next door is very handy. However if you arrive late then make sure you get a code for the parking garage. The apartment we stayed in was a 3 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms, one with a spa bath. The staff split one of the double beds into 2 singles to accommodate my children.

I would definitely give this hotel a 5-star rating based on its location and overall quality, but there is one important thing to note if you're visiting during the summer months: the hotel does not have air conditioning. I was surprised to find that the entire hotel lacks AC, which made it a bit uncomfortable during the hot days. If you're sensitive to heat, definitely keep that in mind when booking. That said, the hotel is in a fantastic location--super close to downtown, so it's perfect for exploring the area. Another thing to consider is the $40 per day parking fee, which adds up over time. Overall, it's a great place to stay if you're visiting outside the summer months.
We stayed in Suite 3 for 5 nights as we were attending a family Wedding.|Our sons flew in from the UK and joined us there.|On the plus side, the apartment was very clean, both bathrooms were well appointed, the kitchen was modern and everything worked.||The view from the living/kitchen was breathtaking.|The laundry and ironing board/iron were also very useful to keep ourselves neat and tidy for the pre and post wedding family get togethers and the big day itself.||The taxi button in reception was a real revelation! We used it 3 times and on every occasion the taxi arrived within 5 minutes.||I used the pool with a view twice.||On a more negative side, we had to keep the curtains in the 3 bedrooms closed at all times for privacy as we could see straight into our neighbour's bedroom windows.||The location is very central and we managed to walk to most places apart from the Wedding venue itself which was in the Botanical Gardens.||There are many restaurants around and the New World supermarket is a few minutes walk away.||Staff in reception were very helpful and pleasant and enthusiastic about the Wedding.||I would recommend Tory70 for a stay in Wellington.
In a very down run area of the city. Very noisy. The balconies are dirty definitely not cleaned before our visit. There is no air conditioning so you need to have windows open when the sun has moved round from shining directly into the rooms in the morning. |The lounge chairs have never been cleaned and I won't be sitting on the dining room chairs . |1 star as the bed is clean and comfortable. |Find another "hotel " ( not our definition of a hotel).
The rooms need a good clean. The first one 403 had drink spilled up the wall and the second room 408 had rubbish in the wardrobe which was situated out in the living area which smelled terrible, the sink in the bathroom was blocked (had to shift rooms as they had not passed our request on). Windows were filthy. The rubbish trucks arrived in the small hours emptying skips and bins so would not ever suggest to stay in rooms with a city view. For money spent we were not impressed. Reception, Jordan, tried to be helpful but management over rid him.
We chose this Hotel for a 7 day stay in Wellington as we were visiting to watch the cricket. Perfect location as just a 10-15 minute walk to the ground. Also - we found the staff on the whole helpful (although when we enquired about a taxi - booking an Uber was suggested: whereas we actually discovered there was a button at reception which could be used to connect directly to a local taxi firm). |It was well located for convenience stores & a great "farm type" food shop & some bars. It was also a short walk to various restaurants & the harbour. The linen was good quality & the small kitchenette functional. ||We had booked this hotel back in May, via "booking.com" and we were advised a few weeks before our stay that ownership had changed & reception wasnt manned 24/7. When we were allocated our room - it was very small compared to the images we had seen when we had booked. We have never returned to reception after being checked in - to complain about our room - but we did on this occasion & were offered an alternative but it was on the 1st floor & whilst it was larger - it was quite noisy with the road & pedestrian traffic directly outside. It also had space & plumbing in the bathroom for a washing machine (which we had booked) - but it wasn't there & were advised it had broken & been taken away (we were offered to have washing done for us - but luckily as it was the start of our holiday - we decided to wait until our next hotel).||Also - we had booked a room with a balcony & whilst it did have one - it was very dirty, had no chairs & couldn't be used anyway as it was so near the hotel entrance. The leather sofa was also very worn & tired. There was only a very small wardrobe in the bedroom with 2 hangers & just a small shelf & small drawer. There was also only 1 bedside cabinet. So we ended up living out of our suicases for the week. Also - the shower is in the bathtub & a handrail etc is really required. Also - no air con but we were provided with a fan - although there wasn't room to have it in the bedroom & no safe available in the room. ||The hotel is described as "4 star" - but feel "3 star" would be more accurate.
My 2nd stay at Tory street apartments and my favorite place to stay especially as I was in Wellington for 5 nights. Helpful friendly and accommodating staff, rooms are clean, good facilities to make a meal and do a load of washing, rooms are quiet with blackout blinds, super comfy beds and room had a balcony which is nice for fresh air and great city view, and close to Moore Wilsons and Short stroll to Cuba Street. Small but adequate gym and beautiful pool with best view of the city! Highly recommend
Update : |The hotel finally agreed to provide us with a credit this morning ; however, after seeing our review on TripAdvisor, they rescinded the offer withing 10 minutes. I feel deeply concerned and even threatened as a consumer if I am not allowed to post an honest review for the benefit of fellow travelers.||I understand the hotel may have concerns about the feedback I shared. However, as a customer, I have the right to express my honest experience. Sharing reviews is a fundamental consumer right that helps others make informed decisions. Feedback, whether positive or critical, plays a vital role in improving services and maintaining transparency.||The stress we endured yesterday due to their actions is something we clearly did not pay for. I am deeply disappointed that the booking credit has been rescinded solely due to my review. Such a decision undermines the principles of fair treatment and raises serious concerns about retaliation for providing genuine feedback. Denying credit as a consequence of an honest review should be considered an unfair practice. |_____________________________________________________________________________||I am extremely disappointed with the lack of empathy and understanding shown by this hotel. I had booked a stay in good faith, intending to visit Wellington to show my parents the city. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen and genuine circumstances related to COVID, we were unable to make the trip.|I understand that my booking was non-refundable; however, these are exceptional circumstances, and I informed the hotel well in advance. Despite explaining the situation and requesting a refund or at least some form of credit, the hotel flatly refused.|The rigid and inflexible approach is appalling, especially during a time when businesses should show compassion toward their customers. It's not as if this was a last-minute cancellation without explanation--I reached out early and was transparent about the reason.||This experience has left a sour taste and completely ruined what was supposed to be a special trip. I expected better from a company operating in the hospitality industry. Hospitality should include understanding, especially in circumstances beyond the control of the customer."
