Villa Longo de Bellis

Wonderful, wonderful wonderful! The villa is beautiful, well presented and clean. The views are wonderful and the rooms spacious and really comfortable. The host, Carlo, is lovely, warm and generous. We couldn't have asked for a more spectacular week!

First off let me start by saying that Carlo is a true gentleman and a wonderful host. My Italian is limited as is his English but we managed with translator app and with hand and arm signals. The apartment we stayed in (for two to three people) was on the basement level (fantastic for keeping cool) and had absolutely everything that we needed. It was spotless and Carlo paid great attention to detail as there was nothing that was missing (that we couldn't easily live without). There is a washer, clothes rack, iron with ironing board, hairdryer, soaps etc. The kitchen is fully loaded with a 4 burner gas stove, toaster, pots, pans etc and even a mini vacuum. The apartment opens up onto it's own patio with table and chairs, sun beds and even a shower for washing off sea water. The bed is very comfortable with extra blankets etc. If you like antiques this is a great place as well as the house is both historic and fascinating for a tour. It overlooks the Adriatic (about 75 meters away) and there are several restaurants and pizzerias and grocery stores within walking distance. We initially took the adventurers route and were using public transport to get around and tour but after a couple of days went back to the airport and got a car. Public transport can be done (Number 1 bus to Bari stops right around the corner) but it is somewhat time consuming. This is a great base to tour and within an hours drive there are many great places to visit, among them Alberobello, Matera, Monopoli etc. Only issue I can point to is the internet in the bedroom section of the apartment is very sketchy (this I assume is due to the thick stone walls that help keep you cool) so need to sit in the kitchen or out in the lobby. We would happily return to this Villa and next time spend more than a week.

This property lived up to its previous reviews and more. Fantastic welcome and care for us from our arrival. Excellent bedrooms kitchen area and bathroom. We had the two bedroom area on ground floor. Great breakfasts with sea view. Owners kind and welcoming. Across the road is a private beach with pool, chair pool and umbrella from fifteen euro per day pp great value take long day and have ham and cheese toastie from right next door for three fifty, paradise is lovely restaurant feed four for sixty Euro including wine . Walk coast road 15 min to santo spirito for atm supermarkets chemists shoe and clothes shops ! Lovely restaurant la tana dell artista about eighty euro for four with wine . Take train to Bari from palese train station fifteen minute walk from villa go right out the gate next right next left cross the road after best western hotel then take a right for train station, from Bari can travel to alberobello for under ten euro rtn , Bari has lovely shopping squares buildings. Would love to return seven days is not enough loved the villa and its owners can't recommend highly enough

We came over 4th of July weekend. The room was set up with plenty of food and drink. The location itself was amazing, but the hospitality of the owners was just as great. We were able to take lawn chairs to the beach that was right across the street and he even assisted us in getting us to a store and ATM. Anything we needed, they bent over backwards to give us. It was also nice and quiet in the rooms.

I loved staying in Carlo's beautiful historic home. From the view of the water from the window to the fascinating antique furniture; from the kind and warm service that Carlo provided to the local free and lido beaches, I enjoyed my couple of days in this wonderful B&B. And the stop for the bus to Bari was just around the corner. A lovely water-based weekend.

This villa has an amazing history. Unbelievable General Eisenhower spent part of the WW2 in this villa. Location is perfect. Owner cares every single detail . Having breakfast in front of a blue water is priceless. We spent a week and we were pleased. We recommend to anyone. Ah... I forgot, owner gave us a bottle of homemade wine. Delizioso.

We chose this place based on its location, we wanted to stay right next to the sea in a quiet neighborhood and this is the perfect accomodation for that.||Everything was clean, there was more than enough food for breakfast, the beds were comfortable, and the look of the villa was so welcoming we felt like home right away. The rooms are on the ground floor (few steps down actually) so they are not very light and have no view, but if you have your breakfast in front of the entrance in the chairs, you are looking at the sea and that makes up for everything.||The owner was open and willing to help with every question we had. The restaurant he advised turned out to be very good too (Al Paradise, 3-minute walk).||Parking was super easy because there were plenty of empty spots right in front of the villa. The only thing you will need to pay attention to is that it's a one way street (google maps would have led us in the wrong way) and the police is always around!||The only downside was the slow wifi, but if you're there to relax those few pictures you really need to post will be uploaded. Not recommended for work. :)

This place is amazing. Truly recomended for all. Beach is close and free. Local food and wine is delicious. Calm place with beautiful garden. Ideal for couples. Host Carlo is very nice and helpful. We had realy nice time in this place.
