B&B La Villa

I stayed at this hotel recently, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. First, the cleanliness could definitely use some attention. While the room appeared generally tidy, I noticed some areas that seemed to have been overlooked. The bathroom in particular was dirty. The other major issue was noise. The walls are quite thin, so I could hear a lot of noise from the hallway and neighbouring rooms, including conversations and doors opening and closing. It made it difficult to relax or get a good night's sleep, especially since there wasn't much quiet during the night.

We stayed in the main B&B in mid-late October 2024. The owner couple are wonderful hosts and the room was fantastic - very spacious for our 3 night stay. Breakfast was also great. The main B&B has rooms with private bathroom and their own entrance hall between bedroom and bathroom. One thing to be aware of is that the location is outside of Bari, midway between two of the train stops - the train from was fast (10m) and inexpensive (a little more than a Euro per person), but... the trains aren't always frequent (we just missed one and had to wait an hour), there are basically no taxi services outside of the city in the B&B area/towns (except for airport taxis), the B&B is a manageable 15-20 min walk from the stations. The area seemed very safe, but if you're alone you might not want to walk this in the evening/night. Aside from the minor challenge on the location - there are some great restaurants in the local town of San Spirito, and everything about our stay was amazing. The hosts speak fantastic English, are very welcoming, and can give great suggestions on the local area. There is also parking space for hire cars, which we'd opt for if we stay here again.

I got in touch early in the day to make a booking. I was never asked when I would arrive. Later after I confirmed the booking I was informed there would be a 35 euro fee for checking in after 20:00. In addition, the cleanliness of the property is unacceptable. The sheets were stained, the room was dusty and there was a damp smell.

This hotel canceled my reservation and I have been waiting for a refund since September, the owner is using every excuse possible not to refund me. I would not advise booking here unless you want to lose your deposit. Edit: As you can tell from the the owners response he is withholding my money for absolutely no reason. Book here at your own risk!

Short taxi ride from Bari airport, supplied at a reasonable rate by our host. Large comfortable super clean bedroom and shower room. Breakfast included. 10 mins walk to the marina for eating places and bars

Large, clean, modern bedrooms with a separate large bathroom. Located in an beautiful large villa, family run. Close to the airport but no noise from it. Nice breakfast on the terrace in the garden. Super helpful hosts, picked us up from the airport and next day took us to the car rental agency. Good to know as well that a 8 minute walk away there is the sea and several beaches to have a swim in the Adriatic a before heading off further on your trip! Highly recommended!
