Aranya The Merian Resort

Location is bit offbeat but very appropriate for those looking for an outing away from the cityscape. Staff service is beyond words as we went for new year's with family and requested wheelchair assistance and were assisted accordingly. Food is good too. Ample space for children to play and for visitors to relax in the lawn and park.

Food quality is average. Otherwise location and ambience is very good. However road was inder construction when we visited.

Just went for an outing with my friends. I would have rated this resort with 5 star but due to some things, I am giving 3 star. The resort is a perfect place from the city, offering a range of activities like swimming, kids' park, boating, and many more. Its nice property and ambience was great. Positive: They have maintained this resort very beautifully The architecture & the surrounding Rooms are very beautiful & big Very near to Guwahati city Staffs are welcoming Bonfire options are available at and extra cost. They arranged beautifully. Negative: Service is very poor Food prices are beyond imagination, it's very costly. I have travel across India & aboard ,compare to other place, this places charged high price. In the Breakfast they offer very limited option. And the Quality of the Foods are not great. Sabji's are test less. The resort has a great ambiance but the service is very bad when it comes to the restaurant. Thank to the Manager for giving 10% discount. Its request to the manager to kindly improve the Breakfast, as you are charging good amount of money for the rooms.

I visited Aranya the Merian Resort for the second time today. I usually visit along with my 8 year old son and wife largely to take a dip in the swimming pool (as walk in customer on chargeable basis) followed by some light refreshment. It was the second visit for me which left me utterly disappointed. The pool was crowded with some unruly boys/girls with absolute no regard for general swimming pool usage etiquette. None of them took a pre usage shower and wore cotton clothes which are a strict NO as far as general hygiene norms were concerned. Moreover, no attendant was available from the resort end to enforce any rules. Most boys were taking deep plunge/jumping into the pool from the deck area instead of using the mandated stairs causing inconvenience to others. I didn't use the restaurant as my mood had already turned sour. However, on my earlier visit, I did try some snacks such as soup/fish finger/non alcoholic beverages which were average at best. Hence, thick twice before using the Swimming Pool at the property due to absolute disregard for hygiene norms.

Resort is beautiful but food tastes horrible. Not even a single food item from our order tasted good and most of them were stale. There is a separate menu card for Sunday. Atleast provide good and fresh food with that high prices. Pathetic service in restaurant. Please change your chef!!! Will never recommend. Two stars just for the ambience.

A resort par excellence closest to Guwahati. Superb food , top class standard of service. Mr.Basumatari and his team of dedicated support stuff looked after us oldies in a highly commendable manner. Beautiful place for family and friends outings.

Very peaceful and serene place. Must visit to refresh if you have a busy schedule daily. Nearby the city, thats the best part.

The resort is serene where you get to experience a calmness of mind. The staff is very helpful. It has got a very well maintained neat pool. The food is average but higher on the price
