Pine Air

The place was so pleasant and the staff is so kind and always available. The rooms were so clean, spacious and was provided with necessary amenities. If you are a dog lover then it's definitely a must go place as they have few in-house dogs which are friendly. Place is located near many restaurants which is easily accessible by walk. The gardens were maintained so good by the staffs there.

Though they don't have excellent room service, the restaurant downstairs provide very good local cuisines. Pet (dog) friendly. Good location.

Excellent location, Rooms were good. Nicely managed rooms and cafe. Breakfast had limited options. Services need bit improvement in terms of options for breakfast, mosquito repellent in room etc as the city is very cool and rainy also hence some issue of mosquito in some places.

Location: 5/5- Especially for one travelling via GS road, ideal location. Serene, quiet residential area outside the busy heart of the Shillong city, near Golf link; scenic & spacious view of the hills & the pines. It's location & ambience of Pine Air give you a very good first impression of what you are about to experience during your stay in Shillong, thus giving you (mentally) a good beginning of your visit to Shillong.||Facilities: 4.5/5- Parking, rooms, TV, wifi, bathroom, common room, kitchen, breakfast all very satisfactory. However, one needs to carry toothbrush & other toiletries. Soap is provided.||Hospitality: 5/5 Sister Baia (daytime) & brother Frankly (night duty) are the ones looking after you & your needs. They are very polite, soft spoken, kind and always available at all times. They bring your meals to your room as per your request.||Price: 4.5/5 It's very budget friendly for a B&B that makes you feel at 'home' (in every sense of the word). Lunch/dinner thali (provided only as per request) has home-food taste (and I love that!) but, in my opinion, the price of the non-veg thali (350) is a tad bit costly (may be veggies & other raw materials reqd to prepare meals are a bit expensive in Shillong, I am not familiar with the prices there).||Overall: 4.75/5 |I would recommend it to anyone without any hesitation.

We had booked our two night stay over the internet. No one that we knew had been too Shillong before, so couldn't get any first hand info on Pine Air. Hence it was with some trepidation that we landed in front of the gate. |But, from that point on, we were totally bowled over by the charm of this place. The place itself is a pretty two storeyed bungalow with a lot of space at the front. And our room was probably the biggest we have had so far in a home stay. Apart from being spacious, it was very quaintly decorated. In fact, the same can be said about the entire property, what with lots of artefacts, curios and books placed real tastefully. One gets a feeling of being a welcome guest in someone's home, rather than being in a commercial stay. We were lucky to meet Dr. Aiban, the owner and congratulate him on the fantastic job he has done. It was evident that this venture for him is a labour of love. Also must be said that he served us breakfast a good 45 min early the next day, so that we could leave Shillong at 7am. We absolutely loved the place and if we happen to be in Shillong ever again, we know where we would be staying!

We stayed there only for a night. The place was away from the city and hence pretty quiet. Downstairs there is a cafe ... which served the breakfast and the dinner. The dinner was too early and it was served and left in the common dining. Since there were no other boarders for dining we spent couple of hours there and had a late dinner.||The rooms were great ... the ambience was nice with all wooden furnitures and flooring. Room heater was available on request. Bathroom are well maintained with geyser.||The cafe and the common sitting rooms are really great and vey well organised. You will love it.||I must say one night was too less ... one can spend at least two nights here.

This June we went to Shillong and stayed at Pine Air Guest House. We stayed in three of their rooms, two double bedrooms and one dorm with three beds, all quite spacious. The bathrooms were very clean and fairly spacious. The place was nice, calm and quiet, with a forest nearby. Though the guest house was far from Police bazar we loved it very much, given it's serenity and greenery. Cars are available to and from Polo bazar and Police bazar. There's a kids' play area just beside the lawn, You & I Cafe adjacent where a lot of local youth flock throughout the day. |Aiban, the owner, is a very gentle and amicable person. Meeting him would seem as if he is a long acquaintance and would assure you of all necessary help.|Overall, I loved my stay there and would definitely recommend the place, not for everyone, but for those who would like to unwind for a few days in the lap of nature.
