Yum & Hill Cottage

The Homestay experience is good with lots of spacious area, the surrounding area is peace and calm. Recommended....

YUM & HILL cottage is a beautiful stay! Its not exactly a homestay ,instead there are separate cottages which are aesthetically beautiful .The garden area is very well maintained and the overall ambience is superb. It is far away from the town (more like rural area) and hence very beautiful with the view of the hills and the gusting wind. Rooms are quite spacious with well equipped furniture. They provide mosquito nets also .Though far away but airport is easily accessible. There is parking space too. The Hatched Roof Cottage where we stayed are better options than cottage A&B. So for the rooms and location it can have 5 star rating. |But food and service is not up to the mark. The caretaker and three persons maintain the overall area from gardening, food ,cleaning which does not suffice probably. Another problem is that they prepare local food only (which is good no doubt) that too you have to order before hand (they keep very minimum inventory, not even eggs and noodles) . On the first day we couldn't have any snacks on arrival. We had to wait for a long time for delivery food. These is probably due to the location of the stay .Because of the location we didn't get any taxi or car also for the market. So, it would be better to talk with the concerned person before hand about your plan so that food and car is ready on your arrival .The room service is also not proper as during our 4 nights stay, one day one room was cleaned, another was not. Some days they forget to put the tea bags and water bottles too. Breakfast option is very few. |These are my experience only but the overall stay was very pleasant and I would recommend everyone about this place for a tranquil stay away from the hustle. Since it is a homestay so you won't avail the facilities of a hotel here. So, in my opinion just few basic things need to be looked after and a good cook would surely improve the overall service of the stay.

I along with my wife and kids spent one night at this cottage located in the salubrious surroundings with amazing views of hillocks and greenery. It's an unsung gem of a destination for people looking for a brief uninterrupted escape from the pressures, din and bustle of urban concrete and busy stress fuelled lifestyle. The maintenance staff are polite and efficient. The location is also ideal from the security point of view being close to the national highways. I can't recommend enough besides saying that it is a perfect weekend gate-away for family, businessmen, youths and discerning friends for some wholesome and comfortable stay and fun. The icing on the cake is the reasonable price, way affordable than the competition, if there is any, at this location. Kudos to the management of the cute cottages. Ranjan Yumnam, IAS

We stayed in the cottage for one night. The property is away from the city. It is surrounded by paddy fields and we get a great view of the hills behind the fields.||There are a few flowering plants inside the property.||||However, what let us down was their service. For the price they charged, the following were below par:||(a)The room was not clean. There was stale air the moment we enter. There were mosquitoes when we enter in. A pair of old slippers were in the room. We could not make out if the towels they gave are used/cleaned ones.||(b)The breakfast options were really limited. The qty of food prepared wasnt sufficient for a family. The food was kept on dining table before our arrival to the table. When asked for bread, they said bread isn't available on Sundays.

Yum & Hill Cottage is a serene place that is cradled in nature. The staff is courteous and extremely helpful with every bit of questions and requests. The location of the resort is perfect for those who wish to unwind from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives. Moreover, the cottages are thoughtfully designed and aesthetically pleasing.

Yum and Hills is a warm and comfortable homestay that is ideal for the budget traveler or backpacker. The homestay is just off the main highway and reaching there is not a problem at all. It is very easily reachable from the airport and the major attractions of Imphal city are pretty close. Rooms are spacious and neat. The blankets and bathroom linen is neat and clean.The attached bathrooms are also clean and neat though some attention is needed about the dripping taps and accessories.There is adequate parking space if you plan to drive down. Though basically a bed and breakfast facility more attention needs to be given regarding whats being served for breakfast. A full time cook and a organised kitchen would go a long way in this regard.||The lovely couple who run the place go out of their way to make your stay comfortable.

We stayed in this lovely cottage for two nights. The owners are decent and friendly. The homestay is bit out of main city but surrounded by nature and you get good views from the top floor rooms. Breakfast is not that good , average and you need to ask for more if you want. Apart from this for other meals you need to order before.

I learned that yum means house, so this place is basically house and hills, true to its name it has great views of hills and the house is actually like a house not a typical homestay or a hotel. My husband and I stayed in their cottage for 2 night and it was the highlight of our trip to Imphal. The owners are friendly and they have a great know how about the place and things to see around. They helped us with our itineraries. |The cottages are designed like traditional Manipuri houses, the property is not in the centre in the town but you can easily reach there in an auto which the taketakers at the property can help you with, they infact even negotiated with the auto guy for us. The location of this property is in my opinion perfect, as it quite and pretty there. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Yum & Hills cottages and would recommend this place to you.
