Sia-La Guest House

The rooms are tidy and cozy for chilly winters but if you are equipped to live with their not so effective heaters. But otherwise food is fine and bathrooms are clean enough.

Zarina and her son are very helpful. We have enjoyed our stay and the wonderful breakfast. Great hospitality.

Stayed here in 2023. Great place to stay. Great food, Great price. Owner was nice chap. The only thing you have to think about when coming to Leh, is the roads are tight and narrow. So if your bringing a 4x4 or large vehicle, parking can be a bit difficult near the hotel. You can find space but most roads are narrow. Not the hotel's fault but something to think about.

We stayed here for almost 3 weeks in June 2024, and we loved the Sia-La. It is a clean, comfortable, and simple guest house. The owners are very welcoming and made us feel very much at home. They helped arrange side trips to other parts of Ladakh, recommended places to visit, and good restaurants. We strongly recommend booking direct with the guest house to get the best rates. It is very good value for money.

When it's good, you have to say so. And when it's fabulous, too. Which is the case with this hotel, which is certainly the best value for money in the city.||The manager and his team are adorable - but that's very often the case in Ladakh. The hotel is the quietest I've stayed in Leh, a town where stray dogs spend their days sleeping and their nights barking: here, I heard absolutely no noise whatsoever, it was super quiet. Also, the insulation in the rooms seems very good - traditional beamed ceilings. The shower is one of the best I've had in 3 weeks in India. The room is heated (quietly, by a modern heater), which is also not the case everywhere in Leh. The decoration of the rooms is elegant and sober: no white neon which is omnipresent in India, a bay window overlooking the terraced garden lets the light in very nicely. The breakfast is excellent - and included.||In short, the best for a price that defies all competition.

We've been here for almost two weeks and have loved it. The location is great, just a short walk to Leh market, but the guesthouse itself is nice and quiet. The staff are lovely and very genuinely want to help, they're not just pretending to be nice just to get a tip. The rooms are all that you need, clean, and with good wifi connection. The meals, especially the dinners, are excellent. But for us, what we appreciate the most is the owner/manager, Arif. He has been endlessly patient with all our questions about travel and we have found him to be totally professional, honest and helpful. When one of us needed urgent medical attention (not anything to do with food, water etc, but another matter) Arif calmly and immediately took it all in hand and dealt with everything as if it was no trouble at all. If we ever come back to Ladakh we won't even consider staying anywhere else. Very highly recommended.

Though this place is not luxurious, it compensates with the comfort of simplicity and feeling of home. I love my room on the ground floor overlooking the courtyard (it gets morning sun and good for laundry :))and enjoyed the lovely vegetable garden. We have running hot water and that was great. The place is also within a walking distance to Leh Bazaar - The owner and staff are very warm and friendly. I would come back again to stay. Thanks. P.S. They have laundry service as well. Cheap and very good.

I would say the best every experience in Leh. The guest house is beautiful. The rooms are equipped with heaters and are clean. The staff at Sia la is amazing. Meals served are just like home made food, served with love. Market is close by the guest house. I stayed for there for a week and my experience says one must stay at Siala. ARIEF and Team.
