Stayed with my family and room service is really bad. Lot of insects and unable to switch off the lights in night.. Sleepless night and even there is no lock to the room. Food is good with reasonable price and it's near to the river. Price is quite high and nit recommend for family to stay in this resort and it's only for bachelors who can enjoy the drinks with their friends.
The stay was amazing, no private pool. The available pool is small and 3 mins walk away. Good for big groups. Bring activities because it's pretty boring otherwise. Beware 1 room only has AC. We booked the full property of 4 rooms and 24 people including kids. We managed with 5 big double beds and 2 single beds. Please ask for additional beds if needed prior to visit.
Permanent Stray Dogs in compound and scary. Management is not bothered to keep them away on request, No lights on the way. Not recommended for Family if you are not taking entire villa of 5 rooms. No self coffee makers. you wont even get water to drink at night
Staying here was a strange, mixed bag of an experience. On the one hand, the valley is stunning - it is difficult to imagine a more beautiful location - and swimming in the river and visiting the nearby waterfalls was magical. The food was nice too, though it arrived at strange times. We had some great chats with our hosts who were very keen to discuss Indian culture and philosophy with us. And we loved the relaxed small holding vibe, and being invited to feed the cow. Beautiful! However, I would be extremely wary of going on any of the proposed 'trips'. There were a number of hilarious attempts to rip us off during our four night stay - the 'trips' being the most brazen - such as a 'night Safari' which consisted of driving a jeep to a place that was shut after six pm, bribing (we think) a guard to let us walk in and then following a man who spoke no English as he waved a torch around to look for elephants... at this point it was midnight and the plan was (if it could be called a plan) to continue to another gate and then walk through six kilometres of jungle that was permanently off limits to tourists (as it was deemed too unsafe to enter at any time.)Two Kerelan men who were on holiday and had been conned into joining us on this 'safari' told us that it was definitely unsafe, and as a group we aborted the mission. But of course, we had payed upfront! We also got used to having to order taxis from a nearby hotel, as our hosts would try to charge us quadruply. For better and worse, we had an experience at Chedi Valley that we certainly won't forget in a hurray. Do go - but be alert to outrageous scams.
I would not recommend this to anyone at any point of time. First of all the place is in interior location. There was no board or signal. Local people are not aware of this resort. No one was there to direct us or take us. After reaching there is no one to receive us. There was only a cook in the whole resort to manage everything. He said everyone went on leave. There were so many insects, flies and mosquitoes everywhere. Dogs and cats are roaming inside kitchen. It took almost 4 hours for the dinner to be prepared, just for Chapatisi and curry. The beds, bedspread and pillows were dirty. The fans in rooms and dining weren't running. There was no one for us even to complain about these things. Bathroom was worst. I don't know how people gave positive reviews for this place
Hi every one. Good morning. I had stayed in this resort on 30 the sep. Worst to the core. 1. Stinking linen, bathroom, & room. 2. Very bad approach. 3. Rooms are very horrible. 4. No proper and food. I had no choice since I reached at 9 pm . I left early in the morning. Please don't be carried away by the pictures in the web site. God bless you.
We had a visit to this facility two and half years back. The experience was pretty good. So we tried it again last week; and booked via Agoda with pre-payment. We reached the facility by 6PM. To our horrifying surprise, the guy at the counter said, they have no business with Agoda! Though we have a confirmed, booking reservation, they said no rooms are available and they can not entertain us. We used to travel a lot and this kind of an experience was novel to us. We called Agoda; they apologized and willing to repay the amount. The facility looking much worse than what it was two years back with so many suspicious strangers around in a remote location. So guys, please beware of this facility, especially when u travel with family.
