Prime waterfront location; ideal for chilling out in the evening or early morning. Antique ambience of the building is quite pleasing. The entire property is small, so once you'ce seen the front yard and the cottages, you've seen everything.

Perfect holiday resort.. On the banks of Ashtamudi lake.. The serenity, classic and antique construction adds on the beauty.. I feel love with the place.. Reception boy from alapuzha gave many travelling tips to temples nearby about the easy access and travelling tips.. Hope to go back soon.. To enjoy the rain on ashtamudi lake sitting on the varandha..
We were a group of 4 ladies and we had booked they cottage for around 11800rs. Though the room was neat, there was a lack of privacy. The property was very small, and it was given on their website that they offer kayaking, but on arriving there the staffs said they don't offer any activities and we had to go to the dtpc for it, which was 1 km from there. The worst part was the staff were not properly trained and very professional. One of their staffs, an old man creeped us out all evening by crossing personal boundaries. He wanted to know where we were going out, and at night when we were chilling by the lake side, he came over to our table asking if weren't feeling sleepy. And he kept standing next to our table, until we asked him why he was standing there. And he didn't try to chitchat with any of our other guests as there were men with them. And during the wee hours of the night ( some time around 4 or 5) I could hear footsteps and men talking right outside our windows which made me feel very unsafe. And this morning, right from the time we woke up there were bridal photoshoots happening outside our cottage. There were three shoots happening simultaneously at one point of the time, and you had replied to my friend's reviww that it happened since we didn't choose the colonial side. FYI, these shoots were happening even in front if these so called colonial rooms too, and it's not like you have got a huge property. It was so noisy and one shoot was happening right on the steps of our cottage making it impossible for us to access our room. Please understand that people go to resorts to relax and unwind our minds. But you were letting outsiders come and do photoshoots ( 5 photoshoots in a span of three hours) causing inconvenience to your guests. You can't just brush it off by saying it happened because of the "unusual rush". Altogether, we had a terrible stay at this resort, and our holidays got spoiled. We don't plan to visit this resort ever again!
Me and my 3 lady friends booked a private cottage in Samiira for a day on May 2025. This is my review. PROS Aesthetic spot. Good complimentary breakfast. Neat and tidy room with clean bedsheets. Clean bathroom with clean towels. CONS Wedding photoshoots in the cottage premises - the hustle and bustle ruins the peace that you thought you would be getting by booking a costly private cottage. When my friend posted a review on this matter, the explanation given by Samiira was that it happened because we booked the cottage and not the colonial style building (which is not as pricey as the cottage). What's the logic in that? When we spend more money, we expect more privacy and peace. Duh! Our sleep was broken early on a lazy Sunday by the noises made by those photographers. Cottage - for the same reason mentioned above, no value for the money spent (11,800). Also my sleep was interrupted late in the night by some whirring sounds made by a motor. Security - A creepy old security without uniform kept on meddling in our business, asking us questions whenever he saw us. When we were sitting near the lake listening to music in the night he came to us and asked "entha ivide irikkunne? Urakkam onnum ille?" He stood there for some time even when I tried to dismiss him politely. He only left when my friend sternly implied that he was not welcome there. Samiira, please do understand that we are old enough to know the difference between joviality and the infringement of privacy. You cannot just dismiss it as "friendly behaviour". We did not see him displaying such "friendly behaviour" with other groups consisting of male members. (Except for that one nosy guy, we found the behaviour of other staff amiable) Food on the menu - way too costly! Feedback mechanism - while scrolling through Samiira's reviews in Google, we found that a complaint about the creepy security was made one year ago and that about the wedding photoshoot 4 months ago. So if we experienced the same issues in May 2025, then it is clear that Samiira is not keen on addressing those issues. If customer satisfaction really mattered to you, you wouldn't have let it happen again. SUGGESTIONS Please do add more options for fun activities to engage the guests.
Very small property. Very rude staff. No entertainment at all. They only got a chess board and a carrom board. Not a single fish in the lagoon due to its filthy condition. Food is horrible with almost nothing on the breakfast menu other than bread and dosa. We had a dinner here and paratha we got was the worst one I ever had. ||You can't sit outside without a fan due to the mosquitos and have to be careful about batshit falling on your head if you roam outside. |No privacy in the room as windows can't be properly covered and there are visible gaps in between doors.||Even if the place is nowhere close to what you see in ads, they won't allow you to take pictures using your camera - they will warn you that you are permitted to use mobiles, but no camera. However you can see the wedding photography teams and other digital ad teams throughout the day outside your cottage taking photos with their models - as the right for photography seems sold out, destroying your vacation completely.|I was not able to sleep at night as the rooms were so close and I could hear people laughing and talking throughout the night. (I selected premium rooms worth 13k per night)|If you want to waste your money, spoiling your vacation, then this place is a perfect choice. There is no pool, not even a 100 m walkway not a decent bed. Just horrible.
A lovely place. Aesthetically designed. The rooms have a lake view. Guests can sit on the divans set out on the corridor and enjoy the view of the lake. Not very expensive. A nice place to visit with family or friends.
Very good, rather excellent resort for a relaxed atmosphere. Location is good and easy to find and the access is very good and convenient. Very friendly atmosphere. Staff Krishnan and Akhil were very helpful and the members who was a part of the property were very courteous and helpful. Rooms were clean including the bathroom and very comfortable. Had only dinner here. Can't say much about the food - exorbitantly expensive for a moderately tasty food. Would suggest that they have the breakfast ready by 7.30 am rather than 8.30am which is too late. Overall a very good experience and would love to spend a relaxed weekend once more here
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! What made the experience truly exceptional was the hospitality and professionalism of Manager Krishnan. From the moment I arrived, he made sure every detail was taken care of with genuine care and attention. His warm demeanor, quick problem-solving, and the way he personally ensures each guest feels comfortable and valued is remarkable. Krishnan goes above and beyond to make sure every customer is happy. He listens, understands, and takes swift action to accommodate any need or request. It's rare to come across someone who takes such pride in their work and genuinely enjoys making people feel at home. If you're planning to stay here, rest assured you're in great hands. A big thank you to Manager Krishnan and the entire team for making my stay memorable. Highly recommend!
