Winsum Hill Solan

We had the most amazing experience at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are very spacious with the most beautiful view of the hills. Staff was extremely friendly. Food and service were outstanding. The hotel GM Mr. Vicky ensured that we were comfortable in every way and also went an extra mile to provide us with different kind of cuisine every day. The entire staff was extremely efficient and helpful. We were so happy and relaxed that we extended our stay by 3 days. I have never met a more efficient and helpful person than Mr. Vicky.

First impressions: What a view! The top balcony, middle balcony and room overlook the valley with the distant snow capped mountain. Comfortable bed and adequate bathroom en suite. Mr. Bali and the staff were very friendly and attentive and entertaining too. Fantastic local cuisine giving a true taste of India. After the meal a comfy bar provided a meeting point for our group for a nightcap or two. Would recommend the hotel for the food and view alone.

We had a great stay at Winsum Hill Hotel in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The view from the balcony was absolutely amazing -- perfect for relaxing! The rooms were neat and clean, with cozy and comfortable beds that made our stay really pleasant. The washrooms were spotless, and hot water was available at all times. They also provided drinking water, and the hotel's location right off the highway made it super convenient

Wonderful place to stay in Himachal. two km outside Solan. Clean, fairly well maintained, good catering and a relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful views from terraces. Wood panelled bar gives an alpine feel as one sups produce from the nearby Solan Brewery and distillery.

Wonderful experience in this hotel with extremely helpful manager and staff. The students who were employed to help our group with language and travel added a lot to the stay. Simple north Indian food provided in hygienic way- so none of the 'usual' problems of travelling in south Asia

Arrived at this hotel after a very long and tiring journey, eager to check in and rest. However, the owner created an unnecessary and frankly insulting ordeal. Despite presenting my valid passport and OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card as identification, the owner repeatedly demanded an ID showing a local residential address or an Aadhaar card. I patiently explained that as an OCI cardholder, granted by the Government of India, I am not an Indian citizen and therefore would not possess an Aadhaar card or a local residential address proof in the way he was demanding. I even pointed out that the OCI card explicitly grants certain freedoms, including not needing to register with local police or requiring a C-form. I suggested he read the first page of the OCI card or consult the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) website for clarification. Unfortunately, my attempts to educate him seemed to fall on deaf ears. The owner, whether due to illiteracy or sheer laziness, persisted in his unreasonable demands for a local address proof. Having held my OCI card for nearly a decade and visited India numerous times, staying in various hotels across the country, I have never encountered such ignorance or lack of understanding regarding OCI cardholders' rights. This was an incredibly frustrating and unwelcoming start to my visit. Avoid this place if you are an OCI cardholder, as the owner clearly lacks the basic knowledge required to run a hospitality business.

We had 4 rooms, premium category with valley view, amazing staff service and the chef here is very good, feels like actual restaurant food.. very tasty..

We had the most wonderful holiday here at the Winsome hotel! The owner and staff made the holiday extra special with the care and attention they gave to us all. Activities such as yoga and Bollywood dancing were great fun. The food amazing and the accessibility to many other activities simply wonderful. We particularly enjoyed walks from the hotel and train ride from Shimla to Solan. The local town was a lot of fun. Thanks so much Winsom hotel for a simply amazing holiday!
