Terrible Experience at Mahalasa Guest House, Goa - Beware! We had an extremely bad experience at Mahalasa Guest House in Goa. Please be very cautious if you're planning to book here. The owners, Ratna Acharya and her husband, were not only unprofessional but also deceptive. We booked an AC room for 3100 for one night, but they kept switching off the AC throughout the night and even cut off the water supply, making our stay miserable. When we confronted them, they pretended to be innocent and unaware of any issue. To make things worse, after we returned from dinner at around 8 PM, I discovered that my spare phone, which was left inside the locked room, had gone missing. Despite complaining, the owners refused to take responsibility, saying they knew nothing. From our experience, it seems like theft (phones, cash, credit cards, etc.) is a serious concern here. Both husband and wife appeared extremely suspicious, and we strongly feel this place is not safe. Please DO NOT book rooms at Mahalasa Guest House. Instead, opt for accommodations inside the Mahalasa Narayani Temple premises, which are more trustworthy and secure.

I had a terrible experience while trying to book Mahalasa Guest House for a group of around 28 people. Despite the property having decent infrastructure and clean beds, the entire experience was ruined by the woman managing the place. She was extremely rude, unprofessional, and downright insulting during our interactions. It's not just me--many others have echoed the same sentiment. Her behavior is so off-putting that people actively avoid this place despite its otherwise decent amenities. To add to the discomfort, the area is infested with cats that keep puking all over, making the environment unpleasant. I would strongly advise avoiding this place unless there's a serious change in management. The attitude of the person in charge makes it impossible to enjoy the stay.

Inspite of two months of advance booking we were asked to wait for two hours , as the check in time was 12pm. |The management didn't had the courtesy to offer a normal room so that we can get fresh after the over night travel.|I fell cheated as the hotel team told to book two rooms,as they don't allow more in a room and don't even provide extra bed.(me wife and my children aged 10 and 12 were there)|The reason for giving the room late , told to us was that there was only 1 staff on duty that day.

Not good experience this time. Alloted Room was in pathetic condition. No sunlight, dark inside and fungus on walls. Weird smell. Not recommended to stay in normal room. If you opt for AC, then need to pay 500 rs extra. For child aged 8 years, even though we didn't opt for any extra bed, we had to shell out another 300rs without GST, this wasn't communicated upfront and the lady wants this amount to be paid to her personal account. overall not recommended to stay here.

They are scamming people by using the temple and gods names. It's not an official temple related guest house. It's a private guest house using temple names and confusing people even on the internet we got confused and Booked the room here and after we arrived here we got to know the whole story by their strict and rude behaviour of the couple who runs this business.. they charges 35% more then the authentic temples AC room charges.. and the size is very small and it's very congested too.. we had to cancel our booking and they showed invoice that you won't get refund too and we had to take another room at the temple for which we paid 35% lesser and we got 3 times bigger AC room..

To begin with.. these place is just run by two old scammers and fooling people in the name of god.. being in the temple premises they openly cheating people.. temple authorities should ban there license.. I am based from Bangalore I booked room through online and I had requested for extra matress in room as we are a family of 3.. they agreed.. when I arrived the place and when I started enquiring they were so rude as if they are giving us room for free.. the rooms are so conjusted with no placed to walk around and looks dirty too.. there next scam was taken another room as we can't allow 3 ppl in one room.. so I asked them i will take the temple allocated room give me refund.. they both gave us a sarcastic smile and showing the invoice and in one extra small letters it's printed that amount is not refundable.. pathetic people's.. please don't get fooled by pictures and thinking these are our clan people ( konkanis) and they will be good.. NO they are not..

I would say consider this like an home stay more than hotel. The managers of place shri acaharya maam and mai are very helpful. We stayed for 4 days. It's at an excellent location from the temple. Recommended for kulavis who are unable to find accommodation inside the temple. Rooms are descent. If you go with an expectation of posh hotel, this is not your choice. If you want a descent stay, at great location and amongst good people this is a great choice. We had an excellent trip with family. Thanks for such great hospitality.

Great and very nice experience and humble staff. Tread like a family, very near to the Mahalas temple.||Also the cleanliness was maintained very well .|Bed was comfortable and very clean bathroom.||Room was spacious and amenities were well maintained value for money.
