Dudhsagar Plantation

This was one of our favorite places in Goa and India. It's a magical farmstay that feels like home. The accommodation is humble and yet luxurious with all the cottages set within the plantation. The food is simple but fresh and some of the most delicious we tasted throughout India. They also make their own spiced feni on site, which is well worth trying. The fresh water swimming pool is every bit as lovely as it looks in the photos and the surrounding jungle is teeming with wildlife and birdlife. But, best of all, the hosts and guests were some of the most charming and engaging we met on our trip. This is the sort of place where you sit round the campfire with strangers and end the night with a new jungle family! Thank you Doris and family for hosting us with such kindness and generosity. And a special mention to Samir, our charming local guide and wildlife expert who took us trekking through the jungle to pristine waterfalls, pointing out the diverse flora and fauna along the way. We couldn't recommend Dudhsagar Plantation highly enough!

I had a great time when I stayed at the Dudhsagar Plantation with my parents and sister in November 2024. It is a great base for visiting the Dudhsagar Falls and the Tambdi Surla Temple and Waterfall. Ashok helped arrange a great guide for us for both excursions. It was a lot of fun getting to know Ashok and his brother, Anil. They are very friendly and welcoming. The natural swimming pool is a highlight and I also loved the roofless shower in our cottage. The food was delicious, as was the feni and urak produced on site. It was also great getting a tour of the beautiful grounds and the flora and spices grown there. Highly recommended!

We had such a great time here. Ashok is a great host and felt very lucky to experience his family run homestay. It gave us a real escape and the food they provided was healthy and delicious! The surroundings are beautiful and gave us a tour of the spice farm the evening we arrived, we would have loved to stay longer!

We (two couples) enjoyed our stay very much. The cottages were very clean and comfortable and suited to the forest location. Please do not expect Hilton type luxuries rather enjoy the forest setting and total peace and quiet. The natural pool was a delight and the simple food (vegetarian) was some of the tastiest we had in Goa. We were able to put our own drinks in the bar fridge which was handy for refreshment after a hot day of nature trails. Ashok (and staff) were very hospitable and also very helpful in suggesting alternatives to visiting the waterfalls which was not possible during our visit. Maybe next time! An absolutely lovely stay in this gorgeous place. Having first visited Dudhsagar Plantation a couple of years ago for a quick tour while passing by the area, I'd long wished to stay here for a couple of days. ||We booked a stay for a couple of nights, and then Ashok sent over an email detailing out everything that can be done at the farmstay, and in surrounding areas. And I immediately asked for an extension of our stay - turns out, this is far too common.||The property is spread over 50 acres and you have trees of all shapes and variety, and farm animals for company. They have five cottages, sufficiently spread across. And a tremendously enjoyable natural pool. They serve delicious home cooked meals at specific times.||What I loved about this place the moment I first visited - while the setup is basic, it is entirely contemporary with no compromise on comfort, cleanliness and hygiene - the rooms and washrooms are in top order.||The staff is very pleasant and courteous, and Ashok and his family are absolutely delightful hosts. ||The beauty of this place is in the slow, idyllic life that it offers. As Ashok rightly puts it in his email - it is the other side of Goa.

A real getaway. Great host, great (local and organic) food, great location. All for a reasonable price. We enjoyed the nature and its sounds without disturbance. Different hikes possible from the spot or a short drive away. We would definitely come back.

This was my fourth visit here. The place has a very welcoming feel. We have been coming here for the last four years for our yoga retreat with Yoga Kiran and just love our stays here. From the beautiful cottages to the fresh water pool to the amazing food with freshness straight from the plantation and the lovely yoga shala it feels like you never wanna leave. The host Ashok is amazing and always there to look after any needs. Definitely recommended for those who want a relaxed holiday with pure oxygenated air

If you belong to a city and want your lungs to breathe(!) this is the place to be. A little oasis in South Goa, this place is a must visit for nature lovers and farm-to-table enthusiasts. The host Ashok and the staff are super courteous and make you feel like a family, that made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable.
