OYO 70159 Mobar Beach Resort

There's more to Mobor Beach Resort than meets the eye. Don't go by the online reviews of the past as this resort has been fabulously revamped. We had our wedding at Grand Gigi's, Cavelossim & housed 60 guests at Mobor Beach Resort from January 31st to February 2nd. Brian Gaffino & caretaker, Sadanand met the expectations we set for the rooms we required & the cocktail party we organised at the resort. ||What almost all of our guests loved was the coziness of the rooms & the proximity of the property to the beach. It was very smooth and easy working with Brian to plan the accommodation we needed & I highly recommend Mobor Beach Resort if you're looking for a quaint hotel by the beach and/or if you're looking to house guests for an event in Cavelossim.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Loved the rooms. Huge and spacious. It has a living room which has a dining table, sofa, a wash room, basin, separate bed room, dressing table, many charging points, chair etc. The bed is decent but the blankets are very thin. The shower was highlight. Warm water after a tiresome day. They only provided 2 water bottle, 2 towel and toilet paper. Everything else had to be bought by us. We did not call for any room service for the time we stayed.

We stayed here for just 1 day because we wanna explore Cavelossim Beach and Mobor Beach in the day light it was a good experience but in night it was so scary and we heard some unwanted screams and feel like someone is looking at us

The stay was good, peaceful and quite ordinary. The rooms are good for single person as the beds are queen sized. The doubled bed room only has one AC which makes the room difficult to cool down. But somehow, the coconut trees and cleanliness inside the room made me feel good, home like feelings.||The rooms are much deep away from main road so one doesn't get road noises. At early morning one can hear the waves from the shores.||The common areas are usually not as clean as inside the rooms. The pool inside the pool is not accessible after sunset.||The decor is quite old and needs an immediate revamp.||The best part of the resort was it's location, i.e. proximity to beach and the restaurant. The restaurant serves excellent roasted and grilled King fish. The morning breakfast was quite exciting. The freshly prepared juices (melon, orange, banana) was quite refreshing.

Myself and my partner stayed at this hotel for three weeks in December. When we arrived the staff were very unhelpful and our rooms were awful. I could not believe the state of the bathroom and bed! The pillows were disgusting they had lots of stains on them! My partner then had to go out and buy some bleach to clean the bathroom as it was that bad. The maids didn't do a lot either and there was even cockroaches in the bathroom and a lizard watching over me one night whilst I was in bed. ||||The furniture was very dated and everything seemed dirty. On our last day I asked one of the guys who works there for a room in which I could shower in. He just said use the shower which was by the greasy swimming pool and it was freezing. I then had to get on a 11hour flight home! The hotel is in real need of a refurbishment and the staff are really lacking in customer service skills. The place is a hell hole please run for the hills or the nearest airport. ||||DO NOT STAY HERE FOR YOUR OWN WELL BEING!||||AVOID AT ALL COST

Stayed March 2016. The new addition is Lucky the dog (puppy...quite entertaining)If you arrive late at night try to let them know as a friend of ours arrived at 2am ish and had to sleep in the lobby...she made them aware of us arriving the week after early hours which spared us the mossie bites...she was bitten terribly! It is budget but when you get settled its a great location and the staff are brilliant...extra pillows and requests all met...except for complete sun brolly....there are not any! just don't expect a lot...your not at the Hatti....and then again your not paying the Hatti price....they have moved the breakfast room out the front now which brings in customers and provides more on the menu. Which is perfect for the occasional pool side stay. They provide taxis to and from airport anywhere really...a good price too....we stayed the police station side this time (as you are front facing its the right side of the hotel) peaceful but found we had a lot more visitors!! Had to get mossie spray and plug in! The Port Of Call downstairs is a great addition...sports and drinks...it's just too sunny outside for us but well worth a visit Tim and Sue excellent and very friendly always time for a chat even when out and about.... Great location just down the road is Kinari Restaurant Demlos over the road, pharmacy and shop...all well priced. ATM before you get to Kinaris about 5 mins used it regularly with no problems. Heard Blue Whale was shut so we used Betty's Shade most of the time....we did use other shacks for breakfast etc....but Betty's always pulled us back....quite location and great food excellent service....also nice breeze when sitting in the middle of the hotel outside your rooms...nice sunset too...and you can see the fireworks from the Beach Parties. Not staying next year as we couldn't get in staying in their sister hotel....but will definitely use facilities if we can. A nice walk s Cavelossim to Colva....fabulous local restaurant very near Williams Beach Resort its upstairs look for where the locals are heading...can't remember the name sorry.

You do get what it says on the tin, as other people have said if you want five star quality then stay in a five star resort and pay a five star price! I had stay at this resort and really do feel like part of the family. It's in a good location for shops, restaurants and has it's own access to the beach. It's clean, the staff are helpful, there is a good bar at The Port O'Call on the lower ground floor..

Booked for 4 nights stay thru Makemytrip. We had to check-out within one night from this terrible place. Its a totally old dusty rundown place. We sneezed and suffered all night due to dusty room. ||||I will try to list a few major cons:||1. No free breakfast. Only a coffee and a toast. [our price included free b/f]||2. No tv. A old box is installed which is a showpiece.||3. No toiletries, no intercom no wifi, no roomservice.||4. No blankets. Only old bedsheet and old dirty pillows and a rock like bed.||5. Old aircon. Remote doesnt work.||6. Old dusty room and slow fan.||7. Rotting swimming pool totally deserted.||8. Muddy water in all taps.||9. Bathrooms unclean and no tissue or jet. I had to use my sanitizer to clean.||10. After promising over phone that keys are ready at chk-in, when I arrived nothing was ready. They were not sure about the booking. Never seen such shoddy attitude. We were so tired. After much persuasion with them and showing them all the proof, at 11.30pm, I was allotted a room. All this in front of my family. All this after booking 2 months in advance. The hotel didnt even ask my identity proof. ||11. We couldnot sleep due to poor quality room so at 1am had to go down to reception and knock door for 15mnts to request for bedsheets and a extra pillow for my little son [they had given us one bedsheet & 2 pillows for 3 of us]. The reception guys were sleeping on the reception floor. ||||Feel cheated.||||Pls stay much clear of this horror show.
