We're Goa residents who end up at the "usual" haunts after a long day. We finally gave Assa House a go and were really impressed. Great ambience. A laid back outdoorsy vibe. Stellar jazz playlist in the background. The staff is on point (more on this later). They know the menu, actively recommend dishes, and are attentive to when you need something. We had a fabulous meal (the gazpacho and the blue cheese eclair were standouts). Unfortunately, my wife was - unrelated - feeling extremely ill, so we had to cut things short and this is where the restaurant really shone. Everyone was amazingly helpful, not just trying to see us through the meal. This included the owner, who came up and was genuinely concerned. However our review is not about how they treated us in a one-off situation. We can't wait to go back because we didn't get to dessert! I only hope they are as consistently good as tonight, because they will undoubtedly displace a number of the "usuals". Last but not least -- bonus points to the cute house pup, Bruno and his best friend (whose name we didn't catch -- but who ensured he took his pound of flesh in scritches and pets).

Went on a short date with my wife to Assa House, and it was an unforgettable experience! This beautifully restored Old Goan Portuguese place is the perfect blend of luxury and elegance. The interiors are very well designed, creating an atmosphere that's both charming and modern. We tried their newly launched Coromandel Thali, and it truly blew us away. The fusion of French elegance with the taste and spices of Puducherry was simply spectacular. What a unique and well-executed combination. Every part of the dish was a delight. The ambiance is ideal for a relaxing day out, and the food is absolutely top-notch. Special mention to the staff and hospitality - warm, attentive, and truly made us feel welcome. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place that delivers not just a meal, but an experience.
Delightful ambiance and mouthwatering cuisine! The outdoor seating is especially charming, with a refreshing December breeze enhancing the experience. Service was impeccable. Don't miss the Blue & Goat Cheese Eclair and the Lamb Confit--absolute must-tries! Will definitely be back soon for another meal.
Service begins from the moment you interact with a property, and Asa House disappointed me on this front. It was my husband's birthday and since he loves French cuisine, I really wanted to treat him to a meal here. I'd heard good things about the restaurant. However we'd heard that Asa House may have shut down, unsure - we called. We called not once or twice but several times as Google said it was open. No response, we decided to visit. That's how keen we were to try out their food. Only to find the restaurant open. Upon entering I was told we couldn't be given a table as NO RESERVATION WAS MADE! A restaurant of this caliber, with a phone number - and you don't receive calls? If you answered even one of the 5 times I called, perhaps a reservation would have been made! The icing on the cake was awaiting me - as I was leaving, I noticed at least 3 empty tables inside! I mean, seriously?? And it was 10.30pm at this time. So no, I doubt they were waiting for reservations. Utterly disappointed and no I wouldn't bother returning.
Disjointed and disconnected from reality ... the staff and everyone linked to this place. Normally when someone in hospitality drops the ball, they generally listen. But here, arrogance begins from the time you make a reservation to the time you enter this restaurant. Treated with disrespect and arrogance. And then they have the nerve to say that it's a busy time and this lady who works there went on the offensive. Sums up the place. A house filled with ... and just for the record - you might be known for your food but sometimes it's just not enough. Start with humility. It's a star ingredient. And I'm never returning. We're not visitors to Goa ... we're residents. Another point that was thrown in our face.

Assa House is one of the best French style restaurant in Goa. The owner Nitin is the quintessential host...his Chefs are exceptional as is the service. Highly recommended!!!!!
We were a family of 8 including 5 adults and 3 children who went for lunch. You must be aware of French cuisine or alternatively the stewards are more than helpful to assist. You must also have a taste for the cuisine to enjoy it. We had ordered a variety of stuff to include Fish, Chicken and salad. Also ordered spaghetti and pasta - they too were good. The dessert (ordered on the recommendation of the stewards) was amazing!! Overall an amazing experience - location is remote!
