The Suryaa New Delhi

I am a permanent customer to this hotel since 20 years. |The experience is amazing as usual, feel like home. Breakfast is delicious. The staff is very cooperative.|Location is excellent, very close proximity to many attractions in delhi, centrally located.|Room was well maintained and recently renovated.|It's great value for money. |The reception especially the girl (I do not recall the name) was very cooperative and understanding.|Thank you Surya team for great experience of stay.

I stayed at the Surya, New delhi. It was a comfortable stay, the staff were polite and helpful.location is prime. Rooms and overall hotel is clean. Service good and is prompt. Amenities are plenty. I recommend anyone looking for a comfortable and easy stay to chose surya

This was the first hotel that we stayed at during our Jules Verne tour of Northern India. As we were arriving a day before the rest of our tour group, we contacted the hotel by email before we arrived, to enquire about booking a taxi transfer from the airport. The Reservations team were prompt at responding, and booking the taxi (which cost around PS25) was straightforward. The driver was waiting for us in the Arrival Hall as planned, and the 30 minute journey was fine (despite the terrible driving and constant noise of horns blaring, which is an integral part of life in India).||We arrived at the Suryaa at 11am and were warmly welcomed by the Reception staff. Unfortunately, it was too early to check into our room, so we had some very nice drinks and cakes from the French Crust patisserie near Reception. An hour later, our room was ready, so we headed up to try and get some sleep. We had asked for a quiet room away from the nightclub, and were allocated room 244, a north-facing room with views of the New Delhi skyscrapers (and numerous Red Kites), which turned out to be pretty quiet overall (apart from some noise from the corridor). The room was quite dark and old fashioned looking, with a very odd 1980s-style console for turning the electrics on and off. The console didn't work particularly well, requiring a lot of jabbing to get the buttons to work and, no matter what we did, we could not get the air-conditioning to switch off completely, which made the room very cold. Thank goodness there were duvets on the beds (which were very comfy overall)! We were pleased to see that plenty of bottled water was provided and that we had a decent size fridge. We were also pleased that the bathroom was a good size and that the shower worked well (apart from one evening, when the water was switched off unexpectedly for a couple of hours).||The old fashioned feel also extends to the public areas of the hotel - the lifts in particular were very slow. The swimming pool area was rather dilapidated as well, but it was a nice area to sit out in, and the staff there were very helpful. We also found that the Atrium lounge bar staff were very helpful, and we enjoyed the cocktails that we had there. The drinks prices were very high though - the advertised prices were higher than we had expected, and we hadn't realised that they would add a further 26% in taxes to the final bill, which made the drinks similar to London prices overall. We ate in the SSence restaurant 6 times during our stay - 3 times on a buffet basis (2 breakfasts and 1 dinner - included in our tour) and 3 times on an 'a la carte' basis (bear in mind that the food prices are shown without tax as well). The food and service were of excellent quality during all of our meals - there was a good choice of International and Indian food, including various live cooking stations (omelette, dosa, pancakes etc). We were able to have a private dining room for our group dinner, which was a nice experience.||We were less keen on the location of the hotel, which is in a fairly scruffy and non-descript area of Delhi, but it was fine for a 2-night stay. There are some local shops and pharmacies nearby if you need to get hold of any snacks or toiletries etc while you are there - the labyrinthine Modern Bazaar shop is particularly good for this. ||Overall, we had a very good stay at this hotel. The service from the staff and the quality of the food is definitely worth 5 stars, but the old fashioned rooms really let the overall ambience down, hence the 4 star review.

Our stay at the suryaa hotel was very comfortable the rooms was spacious and breakfast buffet was fabulous . The front office staff was very good and provide very good services .looking forward to visit again. I had a wonderful time there

The Suryaa is a good property in the heart of south delhi. Bustling within NFC, right next to the main market - very well located and connected. The service is good - it's an old property and it makes you coke back - again and again. Highly recommended
