Hotel Diplomat

Location: They need to put some board at the left side lane entrance as well, easily getting missed if not familiar. Staff and Breakfast: Courteous staff and delicious food. Ambience and Facility: They are trying to do best with what they have but the establishment itself looks congested, confined, old and breakage or mismanagement can be seen at every nook and corner e.g. shower sprays in all direction making whole bathroom flooded, leaking taps etc. Needs improvement in terms of quality of fixtures.

Wifi in my room was extremely poor, needed to go to the lobby to download small files. Bathroom is in awful condition. No healthy or light food for breakfast and no ready to eat, all should be waited, and at 7.30 when they start to serve, they barely wake-up, so if you need smth quick - impossible- all should be ordered and cooked for you. No elevators. In general, the hotel is definitely not a 4-5 stars as all websites state

It is an average place. But it could be better. The vibe of the place is very cold. But the restaurant seems to be like an old world charm. The service is average. If booking this place then go for the rooms on the higher floors it would be better. I felt a little expensive for the service.

Terrible experience staying here. Overpriced. Small and suffocating room. No ventilation at all. Manager and housekeeper will keep spying on you. They will monitor the time you are leaving hotel room. They will also monitor the time you will come in. Dirty bathroom will a lot of seepage. Please avoid booking this crap.

Staff is pleasant but facilities are now old and dated. Leaky shower doors which flood the bathroom floor. You have to run hot water tap for 20 minutes before you gat any warm water. Linen and towels are sadly old, grungy and thread bare Leaky bathroom faucets. See photos

The hotel is very well situated if you have work with the US Embassy or in nearby areas. Their garden kitchen is artfully created and the property has an old bunglow hotel charm(if you admire that). That being said, numerous downsides of this property includes that it is quiet old and requires massive improvements. The bathroom door was a hard to open smoked glass impacting privacy, the furniture was rickety and full of signs of overuse,the bathroom was somewhat smelly with an old fashioned small soap bar instead of liquid soap. We took an extra bed which was foldable old type and couldn't accommodate me properly ( as I'm 6 feet tall) impacting my sleep. Few other such down sides were there which affected my stay here. But solely on loaction, service, charm and proximity to US embassy counts make it a good option.

I was in hotel Diplomat for business purpose. I chose the hotel mainly for the location, proximity from airport and US consulate. While the room was clean, it was right next to the restaurant and at night, there was loud music, smell of cigarettes inside the room, probably from people at the restaurant or not sure if it was an all smoking floor. Over priced average food. Staff can be much courteous. Not customer friendly at all.
