Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat

What a wonderful place to stay and relax and unwind. |We stayed at BJR for ten nights during our four week tour of Chhattisgarh with Chinkara Journeys. |Deeptie and Sunny looked after us so well during that time, always checking our needs and wishes and accommodating our dietary restrictions, managing at the same time to provide us with very varied, interesting and delicious meals. |The accommodation was always spotless and comfortable, the atmosphere calm and relaxed, we were able to learn to cook basic vegetable curries under the guidance of the chef and Deeptie, visit a variety of tribal villages and call in at blacksmiths, potters, weavers, and farmers. We were taken to see some melas (festivals ) , and tribal haats ( local weekly markets) during our stay. |Deeptie is a very talented artist and kindly introduced me to Gond art, and provided me with the materials and instructions to make a few small pieces of art in the Gond style which make a great memento of our stay. |We were lucky to enjoy a musical evening with ghazals and light music being performed al fresco- delightful. |Sunny is a mine of information about the history and culture of the local tribal people from whom we can learn a great deal about living a sustainable life. |There were pleasurable surprises during our stay, but I shan't spoil them for you if you want to stay. |I'd thoroughly recommend staying at BJR with Sunny and Deeptie if you want to have a taste of a calming and nourishing respite from a hectic world.

Had a pleasant stay. This is a must visit property... This property is serene and very peaceful... Kudos to Deeptie and Sunny for their hospitality and to the chef n his team for preparing very tasty dishes.. very friendly staff who are always ready to help... I recommend everyone to experience the beauty of Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat staycation.

Had a pleasant stay there. The host were very much friendly. Nice cottage type rooms with attached bathroom. The food was fresh and tasty. The night music session was lovely and should not to be missed. The staffs are also helpful and trained to take good care. Only thing we missed was a swimming pool there. And the River side breakfast program was a lively one !

Naturally beautiful and calm place to stay in. Hospitality is unforgettably good. Nature lover with young and enthusiastic people must visit here!!! Thank you so much for the amazing experience

Excellent place to stay if you are seeking a quiet vacation. Rooms are very good and ambience is very close to the nature. Food was awesome. We got to taste the local delicacies. Deeptie and Sunny (owners) made us feel at home. Overall we had a great time there. Thanks

We had a perfect stay at BJR. From the moment we arrived until our departure 5 days later Deeptie and Sunny looked after us so beautifully. |They made arrangements for us to do a safari in Khana National Park and stay a night there. To visit many fascinating local villages and Haat Bazaars. We had lunches by the river, music in the evenings and on one evening local tribal dancing. Sunny and his team guided us and taught us so much, it was a real privilege for us to get an insight into rural life in Chattisgarh from someone who cares so deeply about their roots. Every day was planned out for us but at the same time we were able to change things at the last minute and were also given plenty of time to relax when we wanted to. |The setting was beautiful, our rooms were simple and immaculately clean, showers good and hot and the food was incredible, every meal was so delicious. |But above all it was the warmth and friendship that Sunny and Deeptie showed to all of us that made this stay so special.

I visit this place with least expectations so far as accommodation, meals and hospitality is concerned. After having visited this place, I need to change my thoughts. This place is just awesome. They have provided a complete package for accommodation and meals which is very nicely blended with an excellent rural touch. U may witness the rooms, galleries, garden and the shelters, everything is very nicely decorated to give a feel of real trible village. |Their meal are just UNBEATEN. |Would like to tell you that I frequently visit places, so in a position to tell you that they are offering all these in quite reasonable prices. |So, to me this is a worth going place.

Let me start my review by expressing my thanx to Google for leading us to Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat. We called them up and spoke to one of the owners Deepti and voila, everything was fixed up within hours. So we booked two rooms, for 2 couples ( 1 for my in-laws and 1 for us and our 7 year old daughter) for 3 nights. Our package was inclusive of all meals. We travelled by road on 28th December. Deepti had already sent road directions and the place was super-easy to find. On reaching, we found BJR to be a beautiful place nestled among guava trees just yards away from the ancient Bhoramdeo temple. We were warmly greeted by Deepti, led to our rooms and then they arranged for us a picnic lunch in a small stream. this was a completely novel experience and needless to say our daughter absolutely loved it. During our stay we were also treated to a tribal dance recital by Yadav people. Gazal night around a bonfire was fabulous itself but was made even more amazing by the sher-o- shayari by the owners Deepti and Sunny.|The rooms were rustic but had all the facilities like AC, geyser etc. The food was excellent, made of locally procured, fresh ingredients. Non-vegetarian food was also available.|For us, the best part of the stay was the service..... The team consisted of local youth, polite, well-mannered and dedicated. Their leaders and owners... Deepti and Sunny - are awesome people. They went over and above their duties to ensure we had an memorable stay and made it a personalised experience. After spending an evening with them, it was as if we were meeting old friends. They looked after the senior citizens in our group too. The dedication and enthusiasm of Deepti and Sunny towards ensuring a pleasant stay is truly commendable. They gave very useful suggestions to visit nearby places. Their commitment towards sustainable living and environmental protection is something to learn from. |All in all, we had a fantastic time and hope to visit again soon.|
