Tara Guest House

Tara is not just a guest house, it is a wonderful community. The family and children from the school the house supports (Shanti India School) are most kind, thoughtful, and good spirited, they are a joy to be with. The house itself is kept very clean and comfortable. It is in a quiet area close to various temples and yet within easy reach of the Bodhi tree and temple.

The accommodation itself is great, would give 5 stars only for that. Room I had was spacious, clean, with hot water & wi-fi signal. Mosquito nets are framed in windows, toilet paper & water available 24/7. The only dislike I had was during check-in, when the lady owner was lecturing me about being a bad mannered person to book the place via app, instead of going with her regular (higher) rates. That was ultra highly customer unfriendly. If I didn't feel sick on that day, I would most likely walk away.

We had an amazing stay here, the staff was very friendly and the project that they are supporting with over 700 students to change their local community is inspiring. We left inspired by the children who have been given an opportunity due to the amazing work of the staff here. It was very nice to see and speak with the children during our stay. Two big thumbs up. Additionally, the took great care of us to help organize tours, help us send a package with the India Post, and organize other sightseeing during our stay. We will stay there again and I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a local authentic experience with people making a true change in their community.

Anyone who travels knows that out of a trip you only ever remember little bits. This is without a doubt one of the bits I will never forget. I truly felt welcome and comfortable unlike anywhere else in India. The workers are honest, authentic and kind hearted. This home can be whatever you want it to be, when you need quiet you can stay in the beautiful bright rooms or go to the rooftop to get stunning sunsets or if you want to have a fun chat and eat delicious food you can do that too. The kids bring lots of life into the house, they have an excellent library with personalised recommendations and they are 100% ready to help if you have any problem. I can assure you, you'll be happy you chose to stay here. I sincerely didn't want to leave.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room is simple but clean and well maintained. The food at the kitchen is excellent. It's about a 25 min walk to the main temple area, or a short tuktuk ride. Def recommend Tara Guesthouse.

This clean blue and very well looked after is probably the best guest house we stayed in. Run by a beautiful young family, Naveem and Babi do everything with such a grace harmony and purpose that you would definitely want to extends your stay. Very clean and bright with big rooms and a very good size bathroom with hot water functioning wonders. You can take your delicious breakfast at the cozy dining room, they supply water and toilet paper and they cook amazing lunch and dinner. It's located over a kilometer away from the main road, so we had peaceful nights and the place itself is peaceful and harmonious, but you can still walk to the main temples. Lovely stay and amazing value. 200% recommended.

My Family in Bodh Gaya. This place has been like home to me in my solo trip in India. I came here to meditate a couple of days and for integration before returning back to Spain and it has been the most beautiful, lovely and kind Guesthouse experience I've ever lived. From spending time with the children, cooking with Poona, getting ayurvedic medicines from Navin for my cold, they took care of me from the first moment to the last. The room was great, clean, with AC and hit water. Towels, toilet paper, water and a very comfy bed. I can not ask for more.
