Ahsan Mount Resort

So we were a party of 8 adults and 3 kids and decided to stay here for a night! We were really in awe of the location! But tents and the food was below par! We were still ok with the overall experience since the owner was present and he was courteous enough. But due to some protests in Srinagar, we decided to stay there one extra night and oh my, was it not the bad decision of the trip! The manager there doesn't even deserve to be a sweeper! He was very disrespectful! Even though the whole resort was empty, he was not willing to give us decent rooms just because he wanted to sleep in one of those and leave the others for his friends! The food was super pathetic and was over priced! A bottle of soda was 100rs!!!! The only reason i m giving 2 stars is because of the location! Otherwise, they would get negative! Anyways, hopefully these guys get rid of that manager and improve their food and hospitality!! Such a beautiful location going to waste!

Left a very bad taste in the mouth. The pictures have definitely been edited in Photoshop. The rooms were not clean, the bed linen was disgusting to look at. The staff was ridiculous and not helpful at all. The manager was a joke. The food was comparable to B grade Indian wedding food. Stay at this resort only if everything else is booked. Not worth it. My worst stay at any place ever.

Shocked to see the reviews and ratings given by other people, its an amazing place to stay. Amazing staff headed by a very capable Manager who personally takes care of each guest. Best location and food, with cleanliness all around the property. Would surely visit this place again in future.

If you like to be told things are available when they're not; if you like promises regarding assistance that doesn't materialise; if you like bad food and wooded riverside settings with extremely loud music at 7AM and 11PM; if you like paying far too much ... this is the place for you! When we arrived for a one-night stay followed by an overnight trek, one member of our group had a very bad fever, so we asked if he could stay an extra night. 'No problem at all!' we were told. But after the rest of our group had left for the trek in the morning, our very sick friend was dragged out of bed and evicted as 'there was some misunderstanding and actually we have no room'. It would have been nice to hear the facts when we asked initially. Later, one of our party could not complete the trek and walked down to the main road to meet the car that Ahsan Mount Resort said they had sent. There was no car to be found ... for four hours. Eventually, a call was made to the US (4AM) to patch through an email to our sick friend, who grabbed a taxi and drove 30-40 minutes each way to collect the others and return them to his (new and far superior) lodgings. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Everyone in our group travels routinely in India, Pakistan, China, Mexico, Thailand, and elsewhere; none could remember a 'customer service' gap as great as the one we encountered at Ahsan Mount Resort. The area is beautiful; this Resort is a disaster.

A get way if you don't need any internet, network and ready to pay huge for the food service. One of the costliest places in Sonamarg, but the view is worth staying here.||One can't stay for more that 2 days still due to unavailable service of connecting us with the world. Sonamarg is anyways beautiful so even any other resort will be equally beautiful, if you have an option to skip this one.||Management sucks here, half of the time he will not be available and the password he will feed in your phone for the internet will expire or changed sooner than you will reach to your room from the reception. It's safe but anyone would like to contact our home once we reach or go out of station, which will not be possible in this resort because bad network. Local staff is good though.

Poor service and no idea of hospitality. Lovely location but *extremely* poorly managed. ||There are much better places to stay nearby. ||Our bathroom had the last occupants' hair all over the floor and sink. The bedding was not clean. There was noisy music from very early to very late. The zipper on our tent didn't work. ||Hospitality - One of our party was very sick. After being told he could stay an extra night whilst we trekked, he was thrown out and moved to another hotel whilst we were away. No one knew where he was. Some of our party turned back from the trek due to weather and, despite a call to arrange a pick up, the hotel failed to find them at the drop-off point. They waited for several hours, then made their own way back to Ahsan Mount, only to find that our friend had been thrown out and had to go to new hotel. Some of our possessions (left behind when our sick friend was evicted) were not passed on to the new hotel. ||If you're British you will understand the expression: 'All fur coat and no knickers'. Very disappointing.

Location is awesome of this place and is the only good thing about this resort.|Everything else is poor i.e. food quality, tents were a bit dirty and also service.|Service is poor because of very unfriendly manager. The ground staff i.e waiters are hard working guys willing to help but not supported because of very poor manager and a bad cook.|Manager did not allow us to stay in the tents we wanted to stay saying it was occupied by some other guests but he and other staff were staying in that tent on the 2nd night.|Can be an awesome place with a better manager and a decent cook.|

The first of its kind in Kashmir. A place to spend your holidays with great aesthetic pleasures. 1.You get your own pretty tent with washroom(full privacy inside). 2. Tv, mini fridge, nice bedding with dressing table, chic sofa as well. 3. Heating system in case u feel the need. 4. Near the beautiful river with mountains, literally in natures lap. 5. You can have bonfire nights, with the beautiful decor around the tents at night. 6. Food is awesome, but prices are high. Dont worry you wont starve as many food options are available a mile away. 7. Staff is helpful
